Samuel Alva Hernandez, Sr., age 79, of Adrian, MI, passed away December 26, 2019, at home with his family. He was born November 23, 1940, in Levelland, TX, the son of Guadalupe & Maria (Alva) Hernandez. On June 12, 1971, he married Rebecca Vallejo in Adrian, MI. She survives. Sam worked at Dura Corp. in Adrian for over 30 years. Sam loved all of his grandchildren & great grandchildren dearly. He was an avid, bowler & golfer and loved to hunt. Sam loved his Tejano Music, especially the Hometown Boys “Homies”. In addition to his wife Rebecca “Becky” Hernandez, he is survived by his children, Linda Rueda, Ruth Marie Hernandez and Samuel Jr. (Maria) Hernandez; fourteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, two sisters, Maria Campos and Noemi Soto; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Benito Hernandez, Guadalupe Hernandez Jr., and Juan Hernandez; and four sisters, Aurelia Flores, Jovita Martinez, Andrea Rodriguez and Genevieve Aranda.
