Sammy Clayton Blankenstein went to rest with his Heavenly Father on October 7, 2020. Sammy was born October 22, 1953 in Temple, Texas to Harold and Janet Blankenstein of Temple, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents. Sammy graduated from Belton High School in 1971.

He then partnered with his father’s business of Blankenstein Plastering Company for 21 years. The last 30 years of his life was spent in the healthcare field at Baylor Scott and White. Sammy was an avid Car Enthusiast and loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed weekend road tripping with his wife, shopping, having dinners with his family and trying new things. Sammy genuinely loved working around people and helping everyone he could.

Sammy is survived by his wife, Kimberly Blankenstein of Temple. His daughter, Brooke Esparza and her husband Junior of Temple. His twins, Alison Russ and her husband Brandon, of Asheville, North Carolina and Clayton Blankenstein and his wife Morgan of Temple. One sister, Kay Haynes and her husband David of Temple.

The twinkle of his eye, his one grandson, JJ Esparza. Sammy was also so fortunate to be an Uncle Bubba to his niece, Kristy Barton and her husband Jerrod; and nephew, Andrew Haynes. Sammy was also blessed to have two great-nephews, Braxton Haynes and Rawling Barton; and a great-niece Brynley Haynes.
