Sammie Dancy, Jr. was born in Morgan County, Alabama on July 21, 1946 to the late Maggie Pickett Dancy and Sammie Dancy, Sr. He departed this life on May 10, 2015 at Decatur Morgan Hospital.
He was preceded in death by: one daughter, April Cook; his parents, Sammie Dancy, Sr. and Maggie Dancy; his first wife, Rosie Dancy; one brother, Roy Lee Dancy; one sister, Barbara Ann Dancy; two uncles, Billy Don Simpson and Howard “Bee” Simpson; grandmother, Emma Simpson; grandfather, Will Pickett.
He was employed at the State Bonded Warehouse; he later was employed with B & G OK Tires in Hartselle, Alabama where he was a faithful and dedicated employee for 47 years. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing blues, laughing, playing cards, talking with family and friends. He was a die-hard fan of the Alabama “Crimson Tide” football. He also played baseball for Power Puffs.
