Samantha “Sam” Rae Beaulieu, age 35, of Red Lake, Minnesota began her journey to the spirit world on Friday, June 2nd, 2017 from her home in Red Lake. Sam was born on May 17th, 1982 in Red Lake, MN to Gerald “Bud” and Georgia (Stately) Beaulieu.
Samantha had battled Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome since the age of three. She was a brave girl who took that journey all by herself and she was not afraid. She graduated from Red Lake High School where she was on the basketball team. Sam was a thoughtful young woman always sending get well card, remembering birthdays and looking forward to the holidays. She made out her list every fall. She did not let others point out her limitations if she thought she could do it. Sam loved her parents, her sisters and brothers and all of her nieces and nephews as they came into the world. She loved her pit bull “Kidee”. She enjoyed watching her movies. Sam worked for the Red Lake Vocational Rehab at the Jourdain-Perpich Extended Care Center until her illness made it harder to continue. Samantha’s presence will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was always smiling and happy. Sam had her own sense of humor, you just didn’t know what tickled her funny bone and let out her laughter. Her family cherishes the time we all had with her. She always said “I love you and have a good day” or “You look nice today”. She was our shining star and we’ll miss her every day.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; Mary Jane and Raymond Beaulieu, Sr., grandfather; Leon Stately, Sr., auntie; Susan Oakgrove, uncle; Raymond Beaulieu, Jr., great aunts; Priscilla DeFoe and Elsie Jourdain and Dorothy Jourdain and cousin; Jordyn Dumont.
