Sam Paul Scelfo III (Sammy) passed away from natural causes on Saturday November 15, 2014. God called this angel early to his extended home at 34 years of age. He was born on July 31, 1980 in Metairie as the deeply beloved son of Sam Scelfo Jr and step mother Jackie Sue Howard Scelfo and mother Elissa Richardson. Sammy is survived by his sister Stacey Scelfo Tate and his brothers Vincent, Dominick, and Antonio, his brother-in-law Elisha Tate and nephew Jacob Tate and sister-in-law Victoria Pichon Scelfo and niece Sophia Grace Scelfo. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was affectionately known to his brothers as “Bubba.” Sammy was loved by everyone who knew him and was always carrying a huge smile from ear to ear. He spent 7 years as the VP of sales at Gambino’s Bakery before chasing his dream of studying architecture at Tulane University. He enjoyed being enrolled in his architecture classes as art and design were his true love. He deeply cared for his three dogs Roc, Olive and Zea, adopting two of them from local animal shelters.
