Sam Scacciferro, 101, of LaSalle, passed away Thursday April 21, 2022 peacefully at his home.
Sam was born March 1, 1921 in LaSalle to John and Mary (Maggio) Scacciferro. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, stationed stateside in Washington D.C. He married A. Dorothy Miklavcic on June 23, 1951. She passed away June 21, 2016.
Sam was an avid gardener. He enjoyed hiking and walking, going for coffee with friends and attending church. He is survived by his children, Jill (Gale Stoffregen) Mauritzen, Sue (John) Walters, Karen Scacciferro and Gregg Scacciferro; six grandchildren, Jason Walters, Nick Walters, Luke Walters, Ashley Noonan, Amy Mauritzen and Claire Byron and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy and a son, Thomas.Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
