Sam Dean Bundy, 64 of Centralia, passed away Friday, May 18, 2018 at his home with his wife and son by his side. Sam was born December 23, 1953 in Salem, son of Darrell Bundy and Jeannine “Tootsie” (Jackson) Bundy.
He married Tanya Geiger on May 29, 1982 and she survives in Centralia. In addition to his mother, Jeannine “Tootsie” Bundy of Odin, he is also survived by his wife of almost 36 years, Tanya Bundy of Centralia; a son: Ryan Bundy and wife Becca of Maryville; two granddaughters: Mabrey and Morgan both of Maryville; a brother: Jeff Bundy and special friend Linda Kujawa of O’Fallon; father-in-law: Walt Geiger of Sandoval; sister-in-law: Pat Williams of Sandoval; brother-in-law: Tim Geiger and wife Barb of Tomball, Texas; several nieces and nephews; special cousins: Rick Jackson and wife Connie and Andy Jackson all of Odin; special friend: Andy Gainer of Centralia.
He was preceded in death by his father, a brother: Mike Bundy and mother-in-law: Jane Geiger. Sam worked as a Manager for Miller Lumber for many years and then became a Math Instructor at Kaskaskia College for 15 years. While an Instructor at Kaskaskia College, he achieved Adjunct Faculty Member, Outstanding Faculty Award and Technology Excellors Award. He was a member of the Calumet Street Christian Church in Centralia.
He enjoyed playing golf, watching SIU Basketball and Football, doing research and fact finding, and he was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family, grandkids and friends.
