Salvatore Scarlato, 86 of Lavallette, passed away July 8, 2018. He was born in Elizabeth, NJ and lived in Union, NJ before moving to Lavallette 16 years ago. He proudly served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army. He was a Welder with Schering Plough in Union, NJ for many years.

He was a parishioner of St Pio of Pietrelcina in Lavallete, where he was a member of the Holy Name Society. He was a life member and active member of the Knights of Columbus in Union, NJ.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Louise (Castleton), his four beloved children Deborah Fabiano of Venice, FL, Karen Sandy of Lavallette, NJ, Linda Taras of Long Valley, NJ, and Gregory Scarlato of Howell, NJ, two brothers Anthony “Tony” Scarlato of Elizabeth, NJ and Philip Scarlata of Cranford, NJ, two sisters Jeanette Scarlata of Ewing, NJ and Phyllis D’Anna of Clark, NJ, 9 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
