He was honorably discharged on May 30, would say, “God gave me strength; I had a good life.” He was a man deeply rooted in his faith, which was clearly seen in his love of life and others. He was a ‘people person’ who took great enjoyment in spending time with family, friends, and acquaintances. Even his grandchildren’s friends referred to him as “Poppop” because of his loving, nurturing ways. He rarely went anywhere where he did not meet someone he already knew. He never forgot anyone nor was he a person easily forgotten. He left an indelible mark on everyone’s worked for General Electric and Piasecki (which became Vertol Corporation) prior to his 28-years as an Electrical Inspector with the City of Philadelphia. In addition, he was active in many organizations (International Association of Electrical Inspectors; Lions Club; Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania Sons and Daughters of Italy – Benvenuto Lodge; Senior clubs and the Knights of Columbus, to name a few) as well as a 50-year member of the Men of Malvern.
