WINSTED –MONA – Salvatore Michael Mona, passed away October 11, 2016. He was the loving husband of Barbara (Clarke) Mona for 66 years. Born October 21, 1929 in Hartford; the son of the late Nicholas and Louise Mona. Sal was a Computer Programmer for Honeywell and IBM for many years and also loved working at Butternut Basin & Ski area. He was an avid skier, enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events as well as spending the summers at the cove. The family would like to thank the staff of Valerie Manor and his Hospice nurse for their care and kindness. In addition to his wife, he leaves two sons, Steven Mona and wife Sherry of Barkhamsted and David Mona and wife Anna of Barkhamsted; a daughter, Linda Smith and husband Timmy of Hartland; 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Gary Mona and his siblings.
