Salvatore “Tod” Ciresi, 94, of 50C Clifford St., Hamden died Oct. 26, 2010 in St. Raphael’s Hospital. Nicknamed “The Hawk”, Mr. Ciresi was born in Termini, Sicily Aug. 20, 1916, son of the late Joseph and Anna Spicuzza Ciresi. He came here as a child. Active in the wholesale produce business most of his life, he was a partner in A. Ciresi & Sons. He was an avid bowler, golfer and Yankee fan and was often known to be a prankster. During World War II, he served in the US Army. He is survived by his wife, Maria Mennone Ciresi; four daughters, Anna Ciresi and Rose (John) Massari, both of Hamden, Joanne (Kevin) Barrett of Miami, FL. and Rita (Jeff Lipkes) Ciresi of Tampa, FL.; five grandchildren, Peter & Todd Massari, Celeste Lipkes, Dylan & Alana Barrett; and his beloved nephew, Robert Ciresi. He was predeceased by his brother, Augustus C. “Augie” Ciresi.
