Salvador Cervera, Jr., 84, of Newington, passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 13, 2021 at Jerome Home, New Britain. Born in Hartford, son of the late Salvador and Dorothy (Carrier) Cervera, he was a lifelong Newington resident and parishioner of St. Mary’s Church. He was employed for many years with Argus Security Group, Inc. prior to his retirement. Salvador was a sports enthusiast and fan of the Red Sox, UConn Basketball and the NY Giants. Above all, he had a love of music which brought him to entertain the greater Hartford area with his saxophone skills while performing with the Sal Cervera Trio. Music brought Sal happiness and he enjoyed sharing it with others. He is survived by his two daughters, Lynne Thomas and her husband Kenneth of Manchester and Michelle Cervera of Plainville, his two grandsons, Shawn Bald and Christopher Walczewski, and his great granddaughter, Emily. He also leaves his sister Dolores Matarese and her husband Rocco and their son Joseph Matarese, all of NC. His family wishes to thank the staff of the Jerome Home for their care and compassion over the last nine years.
