Sally Sue (Pawsey) Mentzer, 82, of Tiffin, died unexpectedly at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Toledo on Monday, January 5, 2015.
Mrs. Mentzer was born in Clyde on March 29,1932 to Lester and Corinne (Stokes) Pawsey. She graduated from Clyde High School in 1950, then graduated from Providence School of Practical Nursing, Sandusky.
She had been an LPN at Tiffin Mercy prior to becoming a homemaker.
Sally was a member of the Family of Faith Lutheran Church; the American Rose Society; Eastern Star #189, where she was a past Matron. She was a former member of First Lutheran Church, Tiffin and the former Clyde Eastern Star.
On October 26,1963, she married Richard D. Mentzer, he survives in Tiffin. Also surviving is a son, Christopher J. Mentzer of Meza, Arizona; a daughter, Pamela (John) Hohman, Tiffin; two step daughters, Michelle (Jim) Mentzer-Oschmann, Colorado and Shari Rochester, Florida. Two grandchildren and three step grandchildren survive as well.
Mrs. Mentzer was preceded in death by a stepson, Ronald Mentzer; brothers, Thomas Pawsey and Robert Pawsey and an infant brother, in addition to her parents.
