Sally L. Michael, 74, of Rensselaer, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2020.
Sally was born on August 29, 1945, to the late Kenneth and Jean (Wagner) Hasty. Sally enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom while her children were young, but later established her Wee Wisdom Preschool and taught for nearly 30 years to an estimated 1,000 children. In December of 1964, Sally married John Michael, a local educator, and they shared 55 wonderful years together. They enjoyed dancing, traveling to many of the national parks, and spending time with their family. After her retirement from teaching in 1998, Sally was active in the Rensselaer community as well as the winters in her retirement community in Winter Haven, Florida.
Sally was a very social person, and one of her loves was hosting meals and parties, small and large, in both Rensselaer and Winter Haven.
Sally is survived by her husband, John; two sons, Jeff (Cheryl) Michael and Greg (Katie) Michael; seven grandchildren, Rainey, Maddie, and Emmy (daughters of Jeff) and Sophie, Jimi, John, and Rowan (children of Greg); three sisters, Susie (Hasty) Riggs of San Antonio, TX; Marcy (Michael) Busse of Twin Lakes, WI; and Gayla (Michael) Tilton of Coatsville, IN.
