Sally Irene Schwartz, 81 of Centralia passed away Thursday, September 10, 2015, at 6:35 PM at Odin Health Care Center in Odin. She was born January 2, 1934, in Odin, the daughter of Jace Telford and Leolia (Moore) Telford.

She married Charles Martin “Red” Schwartz on September 21, 1954, in Sandoval and he survives in Centralia.

In addition to her husband of 61 years, she is also survived by two sons: Kenneth Schwartz of Mobile, Alabama, and Mark Alan Schwartz and wife Mary of Farmington, Michigan; a daughter, Elizabeth “Beth” Marcanio of Pensacola, Florida; six grandchildren: Richard Alan Schwartz, II and wife Amy of Pensacola, FL, Adrienne MaCaharty and husband Travis of Athens, IL, Jon Schwartz and wife Megan of Sanford, Florida, Rob Schwartz of Farmington, Michigan, Matthew Marcanio of Pensacola, FL, and Charles “Chase” Marcanio of Pensacola, FL; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Ginny Betz of Odin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Richard Schwartz, and a brother, Jace “Spark” Telford.

Sally graduated from Sandoval High School in 1951 and then she graduated from Browns Business College in St. Louis, MO in 1953 with an Associate Degree. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Centralia. She was also a member of St. Mary Catholic Church Ladies Altar Society, Junior Women’s Club, American Association of Travel Agents, Paul Harris Fellow of the Rotary Foundation, and one of the 14 Travel Agents selected out of the United States for the American Society of Travel Agents to travel to Poland to assist with preparing the country for accepting American tourists. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and playing cards. According to her family, she was a fantastic cook and every Sunday she would fix homemade fried chicken. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.
