Sally Jane Clarke Draeger passed away on May 7, 2024, in Traverse City, Michigan, after a very full life.Sally was born on December 1, 1930, to John Lyell and Agnes Clarke. She and her older brother John were raised in Riverside, Illinois. On January 5, 1952, she married Walter Raymond Draeger, Jr., having known from their first date that he was the man she would marry. Walter preceded Sally in death on December 2, 2020, after 68 years of marriage.Family and pets were central to Sally’s life. She had a natural talent for bringing people together, organizing family reunions, and hosting fun events with friends. Active in her church wherever they lived, Sally also had many adventures through the Red Cross, Hospice, and her love for thrifting and antiquing.Sally was an accomplished cook, but ice cream dinner was her favorite!She is survived by her five children: Carey Draeger, Bruce Draeger (Denise), Sarah Cronkhite (Dean), Walter Raymond Draeger III (Mary Jo), and Frances Gary (J. Daniel); her grandchildren: Adrianne Johnson, Rebecca Draeger, Rachel Draeger, Benjamin Cronkhite, Frances Alexander, Walter R. Draeger IV, and Dana Gary; and her five great-grandchildren: Koby, Malachi, Bella, Emma, and Carson.
