Sally Ann Buchmann, (Bentley), 78, of Tonto Basin, formerly of Michigan
City IN, passed away on Tuesday, February 9th, 2016 at Payson Care
Center in Payson, Arizona. Sally was born to Dorcie (Zeb) and Marie
(Gross) Bentley, and grew up in Michigan City, Indiana She lived in
Galien, Michigan with her first husband Walter (Wayne) and two sons
Wayne & Walter (Eddie) before moving to the Phoenix area in the 1970’s,
where her husband Wayne passed away July, 19th 1977.
Sally owned several businesses during her career including a beauty
salon, dry cleaners, bar, and selling Turquoise jewelry. Later in life,
she married George (Buchmann) and moved to Payson and then finally
settling in the Tonto Basin area. During her time in Tonto Basin, Sally
enjoyed fishing, boating, bowling and playing bingo & slots at the
nearby Casino. She also worked as a clerk at Circle K in Payson where
she made several dear friends. Sally and George enjoyed a wonderful life
together until his passing in 2006.
Sally is survived by her son Wayne (Vicki) Doehrer, of Phoenix;
Brothers- John (Brenda) Bentley of Eaton, OH, Lee (Dorothy) Bentley of
Westville, IN and Jack (Shirley) Bentley of Michigan City, IN; 5
Grandchildren- Audrey, Timothy, Mark, Nathan & Emily; Nieces & Nephews-
Sherry (Kurt) Krug of North Port, FL, Shawn (Carrie) Nallenweg of
Michigan City, IN, Steven Nallenweg of Three Oaks, MI, and Sandra
(James) Kriner also of Three Oaks, Mi.
Sally is preceded in death by her parents – Dorcie (Zeb) and Marie
Bentley, and son Walter (Eddie) Doehrer, sisters – Nancy Kurz and
Charlene Swanson, nephew Craig Nallenweg, and husband Henry George
Buchmann.
