Sallie J. Carbiener, 62, died Friday, August 20, 2010, at her home in Sawyer with her beloved husband by her side.
Sallie was born on April 22, 1948, in South Bend to Reese and Lois (McNabb) Shaffner.
After graduating from high school she studied Accounting at Purdue University.
Sallie was a former cost accountant and comptroller and was a member of Mensa. She married her best friend, Terry Carbiener 28 years ago.
Sallie was talented and creative, she was the original flower lady of Sawyer, an artist in cross stitchery, and an accomplished pianist.
After many years of suffering from Crohn’s disease, Sallie requested her body be donated to the University of Michigan for medical research.
