Salena Faye Gaddie daughter of the late Willie Phillips and Helen Elizabeth Welch was born on August 11, 1951 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Salena was educated in the Indianapolis Public School System. She obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Marion College in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Salena loved her career in nursing which sparked a trend in her family that many including her daughter, nieces, and sisters-in-laws followed in her footsteps. She loved entrepreneurship so she put the two things together and opened up Pinnicale Learning Center where she educated and certified young people to become Nursing Assistants.
Salena had an eye for beautiful but thrifty things. On Saturdays she loved to go as she called it “Goodwilling and Garage Selling” and she would use that quality time to spend with family and friends laughing and talking calling it fellowship time.
