Sal Arminio, age 70, of West Haven died Saturday February 27, 2011 at Yale New Haven Hospital. Loving husband of Evelyn Russo Arminio. Devoted father of Sal (Karen) Arminio Jr., John Arminio, Donald (Jen) Aguzzi, Lisa (Scott) Aguzzi and Michelle (Andy) Brennan. Cherished grandfather of Tony, Michael, Frankie, Ashley, Crista and Lena. Brother of JoAnn (Roy) Stober and Camille (Chas) Kessler. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and many friends. He was born in New Haven January 13, 1941, son of the late Michael and Katherine Monaco Arminio. Sal was a proud graduate of West Haven High School, Class of 1958 and University of New Haven, serving on his high school reunion committee. Sal worked in the insurance industry for 40 years, employed by Equitable earning 3 national awards, AXA Financial and United Health Care. Sal loved West Haven and ran for Mayor on the Republican ticket and headed the Ethics Committee. He loved working with children and was the athletic director for Our Lady of Victory School and coached girl’s softball for the West Haven League and Our Lady of Victory School. He was a member of the West Haven Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, Italian American Civic Association and the Columbian Club. He enjoyed taking trips to the casino, golfing and bocce. Sal loved people, his dog Bella, being the center of attention and lit up the room with his humor.
