Sadie Mae (Brandle) Fuchs passed away quietly on Monday, March 21, 2022. She was 83 years old.
Sadie was born on September 24, 1938, in a farmhouse in Hawesville, Kentucky, to Chester A. and Sarah (Voyles) Brandle. She was one of nine children. Sadie grew up on a farm where she was taught the value of work. Sadie was stricken with polio as a young teenager. Sadie battled the effects of polio throughout her life.
Sadie married Wallace Sherman Fuchs on October 30th, 1954, in Hawesville Ky. They had three children: Vickie (Bill) Thompson, Michael (Jody), and Denise (Tom) Kirby.
Sadie was a former member of the Fortville Baptist Curch and also worked for many years for Mt. Vernon High School in the school cafeteria making desserts for the kids. After the high school stent, she became an extremely proud and helpful “Mammaw” in providing care for her six grandchildren: Kyle (Nikki) Thompson and Blake (Ashley) Thompson; Samantha (Luke) Wiseman and Adam Fuchs; April (Adam) Lemmon and Alissa (Patrick) Hankee . Her pride remained obvious with the arrival of her 12 great-grandchildren: Tucker Thompson; Dean, Glen, and Sara Thompson; Addison and Tori Wiseman; Elijah, Ressie, Nellie, and Winnie Lemmon; Kirby and Brendan Hankee.
In addition to being survived by her husband and daughters, Sadie is survived by brother Clyde, Hawesville, Ky., and sisters Mary (Norman) Boling, Hawesville, Ky., and Doris (Anthony) Taylor, Lewisport, Ky. Preceding Sadie in death was her son, Michael G. Fuchs., her parents, and brothers David, Harold, Barry John; her sisters Vivian (Walter Keith) Storm, Virginia (Maurice) Fuchs.
