Sadie DeVries age 91, of DeMotte, IN passed away on Friday May 4, 2012 at St. Anthony Medical Center, Crown Point, IN. She was born December 3, 1920 in Roselawn, IN to Henry and Susie (Sipkema) Peterson, both deceased.
Sadie was a 1938 graduate of DeMotte High School. On August 22, 1941 she married Edward DeVries, who passed away February 4, 1992. She was a homemaker and member of The American Reformed Church in DeMotte, where she was active in several activities.
Sadie is survived by her loving children; Donna (Jim) Sampson, DeMotte, IN; Karen (Ray) Eck, DeMotte, IN; Jim (Jan) DeVries, Kendall Park, NJ; Janet Schoon, Lake Village, IN; and Bill (Bev) DeVries, DeMotte, IN. She was also blessed with 14 grandchildren and 15 Great-grandchildren. Sadie was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, 3 brothers Art, Bob & Dick Peterson, and sons-in-law, Wes Schoon & Harry Hoffman.
