BAVIDOSadie Bonnette Bavido on the morning of Thursday, August 26, 2010, while she slept, God called her home. Sadie had a full life.  She was the dedicated wife of the late John Peter Bavido; loving mother of Robert John Bavido and wife, Margaret Lara Bavido, John Peter Bavido, Jr. and wife, Mary DeLuca Bavido, and Ronald David Bavido; grandmother of Gay Ann Bavido and partner, Missie Barcia and son, Tony Barcia, Robert John Bavido, Jr. and wife, Theresa Dybas Bavido, and Sandra Bavido Wegmann and husband, Paul Robert Wegmann; great-grandmother of Brittany, Karlie, and Alexa Bavido; and also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.  In her younger years, she volunteered to assist the Marianite Sisters of Holy Cross by driving the nuns (before they had their own transportation) for appointments and outings.  She also served as secretary to Sister Madeleine Sophie Hebert, M. S. C. at St. Mary of the Angels. When Sadie moved from Mazant Street to Paris Avenue, she enjoyed entertaining family & friends by serving her delicious French-cooked meals and playing Pollyanna and the card game, “In between”.  She also enjoyed playing canasta with two different groups of lady friends. Later, she was caregiver to her husband, Johnny.  She continued to enjoy her home on Paris Avenue until Hurricane Katrina destroyed it.  Post Katrina, she lived with her oldest son, Bobby, and “daughter,” Margaret. She had an exceptional “special angel”, Theresa George, who took great care of her from Katrina until her passing.  During that time, she especially enjoyed her companion, Spade-man (her loving dog) keeping her company by talking to him & petting him on the sofa while watching TV.  Sadie fell this past May, and even though her health was declining, she was progressing amazingly with physical therapy.
