Saba Saba, 89, of Holmdel, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at his home on Thursday evening, December 2, 2021.  Saba was born on December 29, 1931, in Haifa, Palestine and spent his childhood and adolescence in Jerusalem. In 1948 the family was forced to move to Gaza and rebuild their lives. Saba got a scholarship to the University of Cairo to study civil engineering, found a job in the emerging country of Qatar and rebuilt the family house in Gaza. On March 8, 1959, Saba and his beloved wife, Lilian, were married and began their life together. His career in Qatar advanced and he eventually became the chief adviser to the Emir of Qatar. Political turmoil again had him moving to Lebanon in 1974 where family endured the civil war  beginning in 1975 over the next 15 years. Despite this, he was able to advance his career and joined the engineering firm Khatib & Alami in Beirut, Lebanon and eventually became a partner and the CFO. In 2003, after retirement, Saba and Lilian immigrated to the United States and settled in Holmdel, New Jersey. Saba was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

He was predeceased by his parents, Zahi and Mary Saba, his son, Zuhair Saba, and his siblings, Henriette Sayegh and Samira Zarifeh.  Saba is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 62 years, Lilian (Hachwe) Saba, his loving children, Zahi Saba and his wife, Ghada, of Greece, Ziad Saba and his wife, Katrina, of Oakland, California, and Samar Habiby and her husband, Samer, of Holmdel, and his dear siblings, Widad Madbak, Sami Saba, Lily Arteen, Samih Saba, Nuha Waheed, and Mimi Sayegh.  Saba also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Saba Saba, Christopher Habiby, Nadine Saba, Dylan Saba, Danielle Habiby Schwindt, Dahlia Saba, and Jasper Saba.
