S. Marie (Franklin) Hight-Martindale, 88, peacefully went to heaven to be with Jesus on Wednesday, April 27, 2016. She was a resident of Franklin. Marie was born on Aug. 22, 1927 in Indianapolis to Clyde and Maude (Wasser) Franklin.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed knitting and quilting.
Marie was a member of the Franklin Assembly of God Church in Franklin, where she loved to serve the Lord and was a very active member in the children ministries, cleaning the church and Bible study.She was also a member of Kappa Kappa Sigma Sorority.
She loved to spend time with her children; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
Marie is survived by her five children, Cathy Lynn Rakestraw, Julie Day, Eric (Debbie) Hight and Kay (Steve) Byerly, all of Franklin, and Kurt (Cindy) Hight of New Whiteland; sister, Donna Hanley of Indianapolis; eight grandchildren, Brian, Lanay, Kylene, Corey, Megan, Andrea, Tara and Erin; 14 great-grandchildren; niece and nephew, Debbie and Mike; and her dog companion, Teto.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Donald Hight and Eskal Martindale; and her parents, Clyde and Maude Franklin.
