Ryan Charles Rogers, age 23, from Boerne, Texas died in Roy, Washington, as a result of a motorcycle accident on Wednesday, January 24, 2007. Ryan was in the United States Army stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington. Ryan was the beloved son of Jim and Glenn Rogers of Boerne and the grandson of Marvin Rogers and the late Lois Rogers and Doris Moser and the late Charles Moser. He attended Boerne schools, played in the band and graduated from Boerne High School in 2002. He attended Southwest Texas State University and Texas A&M University. Ryan was a member of First United Methodist Church in Boerne. Ryan married Jennifer Sarver Rogers on August 22, 2004. They were the proud parents of James Kyle Rogers. Ryan loved being out-of-doors and enjoyed fishing and hunting with his father, brother and friends. He loved the adventure of frequent trips to Bullis Gap Ranch and Bandera with his family. Ryan loved all things mechanical especially cars and motorcycles. He always had a love of the military with the reading of World War II books, his knowledge of weapons, and playing “soldier” as a boy. He entered the Army in 2004, and was proud to be a part of the armed services. He excelled doing what he loved. He had been awarded the Expert Infantry Badge and the Army Achievement Medal in the United States Army. Ryan’s bright smile and fun approach to life will be with us was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Lois Rogers; his paternal uncle, John Rogers; and his maternal grandfather, Chuck Moser. Ryan is survived by his wife, Jennifer Rogers; his son, Jamey Rogers of Roy, Washington; his parents, Glenn and Jim Rogers; his brother, Tim Rogers; his grandfather, Marvin Rogers; his grandmother, Doris Moser; and his aunt and uncle, Jane and Richard Drum, all of Boerne; and his aunt and uncle, Peggy and Mike Nipper, of Fort Worth. Ryan grew up with four cousins, Scott (Molly) Nipper of Houston, Allison (Jay) Angell of Austin, Stacy Nipper of College Station, and Megan (Randy) Cooley of Grapevine. Ryan’s cousins’ children, Daniel Nipper, Caroline Angell, Catherine Angell, and Noah Cooley will miss Ryan. Ryan was the son-in-law of Randy and Kathy Sarver and the brother-in-law of Brad (Liz) and Jacob Sarver all of Boerne.
