On Sunday, March 14, 2021, Ruthie Mae Thompson Storey went to be with her savior, Jesus Christ. She was born on January 1, 1923 in Newnan, GA. She was the daughter of Dicie Elizabeth Pye Thompson and Warren Wesley Thompson. She worked in the cloth room at the National Dixie Woolen Mill. She later worked at arrow Shirt in east Point as an inspector. She married Thompson Storey on January 14, 1959 – they were married for fifty-four years. She helped him run the family’s store, known as the Storey’s Store, located off of Roscoe Road. She attended the First Pentecostal Holiness Church, near downtown Newnan, and was an active member for about fifty years. Ruthie was 98 years old and lived a long, fulfilling life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thompson Storey and son, Lee Dean, brother, James Thompson, and both sisters Frances Thompson Winkles and Willie Thompson. She is survived by her son, Ted Storey, and her daughter Carol Long, son-in-law and daughter-in-law, Dan Long and Shelia Storey. The family will mourn her loss. Her grandchildren were all treasured by her – Russell Long, Katharine Neuner, Michael Long, Daniel Long, Rachel Crews, Jesse Storey, Alex Storey, Josh Lee, Angel Lee, Jeremy Dean, and Gabriel Dean. She was gifted with twenty wonderful great grandchildren.
