HOLMES, RUTHIE MAE BUCKNER, age 93, of Palmerdale, Alabama went to be with the Lord on June 25, 2013. She was retired from Jefferson County and a member of the Palmerdale United Methodist was preceded in death by her father, Henry Austin “Cap” Buckner; mother, Ruthie Ovada Taylor Buckner; brothers, James, N.C., Billy and Marvin Buckner and sisters, Eva Meadows, Mildred Branham, Dean Bright and Betty Horton. She is survived by her son, Verbon (Sheila) Holmes; daughter, Elaine Holmes; grandson, Barry (Stella) Holmes; great-grandson, Jackson Holmes; sister, Nettie Kimberley and numerous nieces and nephews.
