Mrs. Ruth Virginia Campbell Walker, born July 7, 1925, passed away the afternoon of April 25, 2016. A native of New Orleans, Mrs. Walker was the daughter of Raymond Henry Campbell, Sr., of New Orleans, LA and Elizabeth Caroline Hill Kean Campbell of Sioux City, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Claude B. Walker of Gheens, La and four siblings, Elizabeth Eva Campbell, Althee’ Campbell Moore, Raymond Henry Campbell, Jr, and Martin Bradburn Campbell. A descendant of several First Families of Virginia and Colonial Louisiana, Mrs. Walker was very active in numerous Patriotic and Lineage Societies. She was the former Regent of the Francois Delery Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, President of the Robert Ruffin Chapter, Colonial Dames of the 17th Century, Chaplain of the Chalmette Chapter, U.S. Daughters of the War of 1812, and Flag Guardian and charter member of the Davy Crockett Chapter, United Daughters of the Confederacy. She was a member of many other Patriotic and Lineage societies, to include: The Monticello Association, Baronial Order of the Magna Carta, Louisiana Colonials, and Founders of the City of New Orleans.
