Ruth V. Stevens of Midland died Friday morning, March 26, 2010, at her residence. The daughter of the late Arthur and Frieda (Bucholz) Dettmer was born in Saginaw and had resided in the area most of her life. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was a Nursery School Aid and was active in many other groups at the church. She volunteered at MidMichigan Medical Center, and enjoyed gardening, reading, and knitting. Ruth was a member of the Book Weaders Club. On June 4, 1946, in Delray Beach, Florida, Ruth married Lyle J. Stevens. He died on September 28, 1998.
Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Chaleen Stevens of Noblesville, Indiana; granddaughter, Faith Stevens; special niece and nephew, Sandra (Chuck) Tackett of Georgetown, Kentucky, Greg (Kathy) Wilson of Bay City.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by her son, Scott J. Stevens, and sister, Geraldine Wilson.
