Ruth V. Paulson, age 87 of Midland died Friday March 9, 2012 at Tendercare of Midland. The daughter of the late Henry and Sophie (Kuula) Rader was born on June 22, 1924 in Laurium, MI where she was raised and educated.
On December 13, 1947 she married Eldred L. Paulson at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Laurium, MI. Mr. Paulson predeceased her on July 15, 2007. After their marriage Ruth followed and supported her husband living in New Haven, Connecticut, Detroit, MI, Joplin, Missouri, Springfield, Missouri, Lexington, Kentucky, Paolia, Indiana and to Midland where her husband was a professor at Northwood University. Ruth was an avid poet and had won a national poetry contest. Ruth designed her own garments and was an avid cook and musician.
Ruth is survived by her sons, Brian (Jolie) Paulson of Westfield, IN and Gary (Jeanne) Paulson of Des Moines, Iowa; four grandchildren, Garrett, Jennifer, Arlo, Anna; and one niece, Marilyn (Michael) Agin of Saline, MI; nephews, Conrad and Carl (Nancy) Rader; and numerous other nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Beatrice Ruth; half-siblings Beatrice (Warner) Strong, Annabelle (Milton) Freeman, Francis (Ida) Rader, and William (Marie) Rader; brothers Carl (Edna) and Garnet (Mitzi) Rader; and sister Dorothy (James) Szymanski.
