Lakeland – Ruth Sylvia Lyons, 52, passed away Friday, May 17, 2013, as a result of cancer.
She was born August 18, 1960 in Mt. Clemens, MI and moved to Lakeland with her family in 1967. Ms. Lyons was a hair stylist/ barber in the Lakeland area for over 35 years. She worked at Shear Fantasy for many years and also owned and operated her own salon. She also instructed student hair stylists in their training.
Ms. Lyons is survived by her beloved son, Ian Stafford-Lyons; sisters, Sally Lyons, Rose Young, Fay Ketchum and Kathy Thompson; brother, Frank Lyons; her best friends of over 25 years, Luisa Harrison and Karen Woodington; and many other dear family members and friends.
