Norwalk—- Ruth Farrington, 83, of Norwalk, died Friday at Munson Hospital, Traverse City, Michigan.
Mrs. Farrington was born in Saginaw, MI, daughter of Marguerite Walsh Sullivan and James Bernard Sullivan, and lived in Norwalk for 45 years after previously having lived in Waterbury, CT.
Mrs. Farrington was a tireless volunteer for Birthright of Norwalk, serving as its co-director for more than 20 years, counseling pregnant mothers, raising funds and managing the Norwalk office.
Mrs. Farrington is survived by a sister, Margaret Sullivan of Bay City, MI, and five children: James Farrington, Jr. and his wife, Susan, of Darien, Margaret Farrington of Norwalk, Thomas Farrington of Norwalk, William Farrington of Topeka, KS, and Daniel Farrington of Weston and his fiance, Jennifer Celli. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Katherine, Kevin, Molly and Megan Farrington of Topeka, KS, and Caroline and James Farrington of Darien, to whom she was a most adoring grandmother. Her husband of more than 50 years, James Farrington, Sr., and daughter, Patricia Farrington, predeceased her.
