Ruth Louise Philipp, 86, of Findlay, passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2023.

Ruth was born on December 29, 1936 in Findlay, Ohio to the late Leonard and Leone (Powers) Ziessler. She married George Ronald Philipp on June 30, 1957 in Findlay and he survives. Also surviving are her children, Gregory (Elisabeth) Philipp of McComb, Scott (Kim) Philipp of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Lori (Tim) Nichols of Findlay; her grandchildren: April (Andy) Noel, Chris (Nicole) Brickner, Ashley Philipp, Emma (Michelle) Philipp, Gretchen Philipp, Rachel (Jared) Oakes, Jonah Philipp, Jacob and Elijah Nichols; as well as six great-grandchildren: McKena, Hudson, Syrus, Kelsey, Hayden and Junie. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Leonard (Barb) and Jack (Doris) Ziessler.

Ruth was a 1954 graduate of McComb High School. After high school, Ruth worked for Dr. A.N Elmore. Being a very accomplished seamstress, she also taught sewing for Sears department store for several years. After her children entered school, Ruth worked at JCPenney in the cosmetics/ fragrance departments.

Ruth grew up in East Foulke Avenue Church of God, where she eventually became a Sunday School Teacher. At the time of her passing, Ruth was a member of the College First Church of God. If you met “Ruthie” you were often greeted by her great sense of humor and welcoming spirit.

Ruth also was very creative, using her artistic talents to bless others.  She was always willing to help anyone in a time of need. It always seemed like no project was ever too much for her.  More than anything Ruth devoted her time to her family. She was loving, compassionate and truly cherished the time she spent with friends and family, especially her grandchildren who were her pride and joy.

The family would like to send their deepest gratitude to her “special family” at the Heritage for the loving care they gave Ruth.
