MUNCIE, IN Ruth P. Love, 96, died Thursday, August 26, 2010 in Muncie, Indiana, from injuries sustained in a car accident. Mrs. Love was born on March 10, 1914 to Stanley and Laura Beck Martin. She attended Shortridge High School in Indianapolis, IN and received a B.S. in Home Economics from Purdue in 1934 and was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority. In 1938, they purchased “River Ridge”, a farm in Eaton, Indiana, that they owned and operated for many years. She loved reading, dancing with her husband, her home in Scottsdale, AZ and her cats Patches and Katy. Mrs. Love was also an avid doll collector. Survivors include: daughter Nancy Dailey and husband, Richard of Eaton, Indiana; daughter Sally Smith of San Angelo, Texas; grandson Larry Dailey of Eaton; granddaughter Rachel Backlund and husband Ben of Las Cruces, N.M.; granddaughter Amanda Ewell and husband Josh of San Angelo, Texas; granddaughter Liz Flores and husband Ray of Colorado Springs, CO; grandson Nicholas Cline of San Angelo, Texas, and great grandchildren Celes and Luke Backlund Treasured friends of Mrs. Love include: James and Barbara Lee of Scottsdale, AZ; Rosemary and Mildred Smoot of Eaton, IN, as well as other friends that still reside at Westminster Village in Muncie. Mrs. Love was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Laura Martin; her husband, Lawrence; her granddaughter, Molly A. Dailey, her brother, Don S. Martin, and her son-in-law, Craig J. Smith. The family also would like to thank caregivers Ms. Judy Smith and Ms. Bertha Kinsey for their dedicated care of Mrs. Love for many years as well as the Renal Associates, Inc..
