She was born on April 13, 1928 in Pocatello, Idaho to Arnold B. Call and Beatrice Violet Monroe. She was the third child in a family of eight; four sisters—Marie, Merle, Violet, and Donna and three brothers—Sid, Carlos and Evan. Ruth attended school in Pocatello, Idaho. She was married to her sweetheart, Arthur Tufano, on August 4, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois. The marriage was later solemnized in the Boise Idaho Temple.
Ruth and Arthur were the parents of five children, Angela (Werner) Tyczka, Steve (Marsha) Tufano, Jerry (Vicky) Tufano, James (Susie) Tufano, and Caron (Glenn) Warnicke. She is survived by 15 grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, as well as others in a large extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; her parents; and her brother, Evan Call.
