Ruth Rozzell gently passed away Aug. 31, 2010 in Boise, Idaho at her loving daughter’s home in Boise, Idaho. She was born November 20, 1924 in Clovis, New Mexico, to Vernon Elliott and Lenora Cheely Elliott. The Elliot family had a farm near Grier where Ruth grew and thrived along with her brother, Dale, and sister, Nell.
In June 1942 Ruth married a Ranchvale school mate, Leon Beaver. Shortly after graduation from high school they started their new married life by working in an airplane plant during WWII. As the war came to a close they moved back from Wichita, Kansas to live and work on the Beaver family farm, four mile east and one mile south of Ranchvale. It was there that they raised their two children, Sharon and Ricky.
There was a great community spirit of love and friendship in the Ranchvale community. One of Ruth’s favorite memories was at Easter time.
Ruth and Leon moved to Clovis in 1957.
She married Jim Rozzell, the local county assessor, in 1972. They enjoyed 25 years together before he died in 1997. They were members of the Good Sams Club and enjoyed traveling with their friends.
Ruth was an accomplished seamstress. She could go into one of the nice department stores, study a beautiful dress, and go home and make one just like it. She was also a skilled artist in both oils and watercolors. Many of her paintings hand in her room in Boise.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Dale Elliott; sister, Nell Young; husband, Leon Beaver; husband, Jim Rozzell; and her beloved grandson, Brian Beaver.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Sharon; and Sharon’s husband, Bob Bolinder; her son, Ricky; and daughter-in-law, Myna Beaver; four grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
In later years she moved to Boise to live with her daughter, Sharon, and son-in-law, Bob. The large Bolinder family became her own. They all referred to her as Grandma Ruth.
