Ruth Marie Darush, 80, of Springfield and formerly of Jacksonville, died Nov. 9, 2015, at Riverbirch Senior Living in Springfield.

She was born June 15, 1935, in Sterling, the daughter of Orville and Ollie Woessner Kimball. She married Manuel Darush, Jr., on Oct. 6, 1957, in Sterling and he preceded her in death on Jan. 2, 2006.

She is survived by two daughters, Diane Marie (husband, Scottie) Bevill of Springfield and Wendy Christine (husband, James) Kitselman of Drummonds, TN; two grandchildren, Della Ann Marie Kitselman of Drummonds, TN, and Haley Christine Kitselman (friend Kris Bell) of Dupont, IN; and Lucy, her dog. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Orville Kimball.

Mrs. Darush was a 1952 graduate of Sterling High School. She then received her R.N. in 1955 from Moline Public School of Nursing. In 1976, she received her B.A. degree from Sangamon State University. Ruth was a Registered Nurse and Teacher of Practical Nursing at Jacksonville School District #117. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, where she had served as the Music/Choir Director and was considered an accomplished Marimba player. She was also a member of the Women of the Moose, the Jacksonville Area Antique Car Club, and the National Bowling Museum & Hall of Fame.
