Ruth Marie (Calkins) Cubbage, 75, of Great Falls, passed away November 19, 2016 at Peace Hospice with her family at her side. She was a beautiful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
Ruth did home healthcare for many years. She and her husband Don had a water hauling business for 18 years in the 70’s and 80’s. Ruth was liked by all who knew her for her bubbly personality and happy attitude about life, even with all she struggled through with her many health issues through the years. She was a real fighter.
Her favorite place to go was the Rocky Mountain Front by Augusta, to places like Bean Lake, Nylon and Willow Creek Reservoir, to camp and fish. She was also known for her outstanding cooking and baking. No one could bake a better cookie!
The person she adored most outside of her family was Alan Jackson, the country western singer. She even named her best little buddy, a buff cocker spaniel, after him (AJ). Her love for people and animals is known by everyone that knew her. As her husband, Don, would say, “I did not marry one in a million, I married one in a lifetime.” They were married for 55 years.
Ruth is survived by her loving husband, Don; son, Kurt (Renee); grandchildren, Dawn Marie, Maygen and Brittney, of Kansas; daughter, Stacy (Jeff) Anderson, grandson, Logan of Great Falls; son, Kevin (Lori), grandchildren, Kayla, Lindsey and Ryan of Lakewood, CO; great-grandchildren, Andrew and Abrianna of Kansas; and seven brothers and sisters.
She was preceded in death by a son, Randall; parents, Albert and Goldie Calkins; brother, Lonnie Calkins and sister, Sharon Kitts.
“We will love and miss you forever, Momma!”
