Ruth M. Rudy, 84, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Friday, March 30, 2007, at her home.
Ruth Mae Rudy was born on September 11, 1922, in Stuart, Iowa, the daughter of Dayton Earl and Mabel (Jones) Johnston.
She had lived in Stuart, Anita, and Lorah, Iowa, before moving to Atlantic in the early 1950s.
Ruth attended various country schools near the towns of her residence.
On February 23, 1941, Ruth married Russell C. Rudy, Sr. in Plattsmouth, Nebraska.
She worked at the Heritage House in Atlantic for 25 years, and prior to that at the former Berry Nursing Home, and the former Spot and “You U Rite” Restaurants. Besides her other employment, Ruth worked on the farm with Russell and enjoyed milking the cows. In her free time, Ruth enjoyed doing ceramics.
She was known for her cooking and baking and sold pies to many area restaurants.
