Ruth Lucille (Bolyard) Mason, age 92, Lincoln Street, passed away Sunday, December 5, 2010, at Grafton City Hospital, NCF II. She was born in Grafton, April 9, 1918, a daughter of the late William Thomas Bolyard and Della Jane (Bolyard) Bolyard. Her husband, Troxell O. Mason, preceded her in death April 25, 1997. They were united in marriage in June 1940. Mrs. Mason was a homemaker. She was an accomplished artist, seamstress and historian. She co-author articles on the history of Taylor, Preston, and Ritchie Counties. She was a member of the Saint John’s United Methodist Church. Surviving are: two sons, Troxell “Olin” Mason, Jr. and wife Jaydene, of Colorado, and Holden F. Mason and wife Kelly, of Virginia; two daughters Brooke L. Russell , of Grafton, and Colonel Jacqueline Mason, US Army retired, and husband David Swanson, of Washington; seven grandchildren, Michelle Lavery, Philadelphia, PA, Brian Heath Mason, of Virginia, Nancy Evans, of Washington, Mary Swanson, of Washington, Patricia Swanson, of Washington, Morgan Mason, and Hunter Mason, both of Virginia; three great grandchildren, Janelle Lavery, Philadelphia, PA, Kathleen Grace Mason, Virginia, and Kamron Mason Lavery, of Philadelphia PA, and three nephews. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by: two brothers, William Thomas Bolyard, Jr., and Dorsey Bolyard; and one twin sister, Ruby Bolyard.
