Our beloved mom, Ruth Lillian Phenix, age 93, passed away on July 2, 2010. She was born on May 30, 1917 in Whitewater, Colorado to Ira and Mabel Vincent, and was one of 10 children. She was raised on a cattle ranch in the Grand Junction, Colorado area. She married her high school sweetheart, Charles Phenix, and they had three daughters.
In the early 1950’s the family moved to Pocatello, Idaho where the daughters were raised. Ruth and Charles then moved to Santa Barbara, California in the early 1960’s, where they lived until retirement. They then moved to La Jolla, California, and enjoyed retirement with family, friends, and travel. Charles passed away in La Jolla in 1985.
After several years Ruth moved to Boise, Idaho in 2001. Ruth was also preceded in death by her
parents; four sisters; and four brothers. Ruth is survived by her three daughters and two sons-in-law, JoAnn Nielsen of Boise, Rosemary D’Andrea and husband, Steve of Santa Barbara, Nancy Goebel and husband, Ellis of San Diego; nine grandchildren, Bob Sneddon, Steve Sneddon, Lisa D’Andrea, Kitty Lou Black, Cindy Groccia, Bunny Miller, Michael Adams, Douglas Adams, and Juliana Adams; 21 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ruth is also survived by her last sibling, John Vincent.
