Mother Ruth Lee Butler Bullock 97 formerly of Newton Grove passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2018.

Mother Ruth was born in Faison NC, on January 29, 1921 to the late Alonzo Butler and Allie Simmons Butler. God in His infinite wisdom and divine love called her from our midst on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at South Nassau Communities Hospital. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, one sister, Blanche Stevens and two brothers George and Alonzo Butler Jr. Ruth attended Sampson County Schools. Ruth joined Poplar Grove Missionary Baptist Church at a very early age. In 1969 Ruth migrated to Far Rockaway, New York.

She joined First Baptist Church and served under the leadership of the late Rev. H. Oliver Scott. She was a faithful member and usher until her health prevented her from attending. Ruth worked at Five Town Nursing home until her retirement. She loved working with the elderly. Ruth was a loyal New York Knicks fan who cheered her team on every opportunity she could. She also loved wrestling, game shows and court TV. She should have received her law degree because of the number of hours she watched those court shows. Although gone from this present world, she will never be forgotten. Her legacy of love, forgiveness, strength and her many talents orator, actress and comedian will live on through her children and grandchildren.

She will forever be her in our hearts, we will never forget her. Her husband John Jasper Bullock preceded her in death as well as three of her sons, Glenwood, (Edna) Clinton, NC, Reginald and John Bullock.

She leaves to cherish her memories one son Raydolph Bullock (Tempie) Newton Grove, NC six daughters Mary Haynes Far Rockaway, NY, Carolyn Chancy (Harold) Newton Grove, NC, Gloristine Bullock Far Rockaway, NY, Allie Hill (Lynwood) Fayetteville, NC, Kathy Bullock and Sheri Williams (Pendarvis) Philadelphia, PA. Three sisters Nancy Thompson, Connie Brown, Faison, NC and Mallie Stocks, Kinston, NC. One grandson, Dexter who preceded her in death. Twenty four grandchildren, twenty seven great grandchildren, and fourteen great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
