Ruth Lillian Catton, 84, of Ottawa died Thursday, August 5 at her home in Ottawa. Ruth was born October 28, 1925 in Ohio, IL to Edward and Lillian (Hoffert) Merkel. She married Raymond Darrell Catton on July 2, 1949 at First Congregational Church in Wyanet, IL.
She was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church and Esther Circle. She is survived by her husband Darrell ; a son, Darrell (Marianne) Catton, of Morris, IL; a daughter, Brenda (Hal) Brown, of Sheridan, IL; 8 grandchildren, Julie, Paul, Chris, Tracy, Katie and April Catton, and Samantha and Katrina Brown; and a sister Mary (Wilbur) Ferrell, of Mendota. She was preceded in death by her parents.
