Ruth “Kathy” Zahm, 78, of Huntington, IN, and Davenport, FL, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2022, at Winter Haven Hospital, Winter Haven, FL.
Mrs. Zahm was born on February 11, 1944, in Elwood, IN, to Daniel Wayne and Ruth (McFarland) Stowers. Her parents preceded her in death. Mrs. Zahm married Larry E. Zahm on January 18, 1969, in Greentown, IN, and he survives.
Kathy was a graduate of Jefferson High School. She was manager of Henny Penny Restaurant for several years. She also worked for Bob’s Marathon, Kokomo, IN; she worked 22 years at Kraft Foods, Champaign, IL; co-owner of Double Nice, Inc., consignment shop, Huntington, IN; and worked 8 years at Disney’s Wide World of Sports, Orlando, FL.
Kathy was also a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Huntington, IN, and St. Ann Catholic Church, during the winter in Haines, FL. She had volunteered as a 4th grade Catechism teacher, Eucharistic Minister at church and nursing homes, and also volunteered at Mary, Queen of the Universe, Orlando, FL. Kathy enjoyed scrap booking, baseball games, collecting Coca-Cola and baseball cards.
Along with her husband, Larry, she is survived by one son, Mark E. Zahm, Mt. Vernon, IL; one daughter, Ronda Lynn (Tony) Frontini, Wabash, IN; one brother, Dan Stowers, Goldsmith, IN; 6 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Don Stowers.
