Ruth J. Botsford, 97, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully Friday, January 17, 2020 at home with her loving son by her side.  She was the wife of the late James H. Botsford, who passed away in 1984.  Born in Louisville, KY, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Denzinger.  Ruth honorably served her country in the U.S. Navy during Pearl Harbor and World War II. While living in Texas, she was employed by the Department of Justice where she worked for Lyndon B. Johnson.  After getting married and moving to Bethlehem, Ruth and her husband owned and operated Howard Engineering, Co., where she was involved in all aspects of the business.  One of their biggest inventions was the Botsball, which was a wet globe thermometer that measured real feel temperature.  Ruth was a member of Christ UCC, Bethlehem.
 

Survivors: She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Gary Botsford, with whom she resided; daughter, Shirley Botsford, of Beacon, NY; brother, Stanley Denzinger, and his wife, Jean, of Georgia.
