Lakeland – Ruth McCoy Muse, 95, passed away, Thursday, January 30, 2014, as a result of natural causes.
Mrs. Muse was born June 17, 1918 in Dale, IN. She and her family moved to Zephyrhills, FL in 1923. Mrs. Muse lived there for over 50 years before moving to Lakeland in 1977. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the A&P Tea Company, where she served as a store clerk. She was a Methodist.
Mrs. Muse was preceded in death by her parents, Philo and Lula Beardsley McCoy; husband, Arvil Muse; daughter, Katherine Furry; brother, Phillip McCoy; and sister, Lucille McGavern. She is survived by daughters, Barbara Welch of Gainesville and Sebring and Betty Muse and Tanga Lewis of Lakeland; granddaughter, Marla Hynes; grandsons, Chris and Sutton Welch, Michael Furry and Jason Lewis; great grandsons, Brandon Hannah, Kyler Furry, Micah and James Hynes, and Beau Lewis.
