Mrs. Hughes passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at McLaren Bay Region. Age 90 years. The daughter of the late Edward and Ida (Graf) Kussro was born July 30, 1927 in Bay City, Michigan. Mrs. Hughes was a member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Ladies Aide. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and also enjoyed watching birds, gardening and crossword puzzles.
Mrs. Hughes is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, George J. Hughes whom she married on June 26, 1948; two children, Nancy Peil and Ricky Hughes; six grandchildren, Chris (Steve), Karen, Scott, Anthony, Zachary and Corrie; two great grandchildren, Addison and Lincoln; sister-in-law, Leola Kussro; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Martha and Robert Courier and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Tom Peil; four brothers, Edward, Clarence, Frederick and Jack Kussro and one sister, Betty Scherf.
