Ruth Elizabeth Maller, 60, of Juneau/Anchorage, Alaska, died January 16, 2019, in Anchorage. Born to Joseph and Shirley Chapman on December 17, 1958, Ruth was the youngest of their six children. She lived in Granville, Ohio through high school graduation, after which she moved to Colorado. Ruth married Glenn F. Maller on February 14, 1985, and together they raised three children. In 1996 the family moved from Colorado to Alaska, where they remained.

Ruth was genuinely grateful for the Juneau community and was a frequent attendee of the Auke Bay Bible Church. She enjoyed working with ceramics, loved cats, and was never without her coloring supplies. Ruth was charismatic. She thrived on engaging with friends and was quick to adopt them as members of the family. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Glenn, and her sister Becky Garrett. She is survived by her three children and their spouses, all of Juneau – Jennifer and Felix Lee, Brian and Chelsy Maller, and Douglas and Lilly Maller; her six grandchildren – Shaelynn, Madison, Malia, Ezra, Nixon and one on the way; and four siblings – Steve Chapman of Tennessee, David Chapman of Minnesota, Rachel Chapman of Florida, and Carol Utter of Washington state.
