Ruth was born on June 9, 1936 in Morris to Karl and Myrtle (Thompson) Hoge. She married Gordon Freemont Jameson on August 4, 1956 in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, in Morris. Ruth attended St. Olaf College, and received her nursing degree from Illinois Valley Community College. She spent over 40 years as a Registered Nurse. She worked at the Community Hospital of Ottawa, where she taught pre natal and nutrition classes. Ruth also was a Registered Nurse at Pleasant View and taught Certified Nurse’s Aide classes there, as well as at Illinois Valley Community College. She spent 60 years as a dedicated farmer’s wife. Ruth was a member of Freedom Lutheran Church, and her testimony in Christ was a lifetime of serving Him. The fruit of this faith was born in much service to family, others and the Church. Ruth was also a member of the Farm Bureau. She enjoyed music, singing, piano, gardening, and loved her family. Ruth was also active in Freedom Lutheran Church, loved entertaining, and a good cup of coffee.

She is survived by her husband, Gordon, 3 children, David (Robin) Jameson, of Walnut, Karla (Terry) Nelson, of Wausa, NE, and Stephen (Melissa) Jameson, of Earlville, 14 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, a brother William (Joan) Hoge, of Lakeland, FL, and a sister, Ruby (Kenneth) Matteson, of Morris.

She was preceded in death by a brother William Hoge, her parents, and a son Philip Jameson.

Pallbearers will be Benjamin, Jacob, and Andrew Jameson, Cameron Howey, and Mark and Dale Arentsen.
